Liam Campbell
HINTERLANDS
February 7th - May 1st, 2024
In his Photographic series Hinterlands, Liam Campbell explores the physical manifestations at the fringes of the urban. The practices and the objects depicted implant themselves in geographical and temporal locations. Campbell and his photographs document allotment gardens and object constructions and figures that comprise a Hinterland landscape. These places exist in borderline regions between streets and fields in an inter-zone that is neither rural nor urban.
Since 2006 in an ongoing project, he has photographed the improvised allotment landscape throughout Ireland. Seeing food as a social tool that can bring people together and help bridge barriers. He has worked in cultural exchange programs in Scandinavia, France, the Middle East, and the U.S.A for over a 20 year period.
Liam Campbell has exhibited on a regular basis in Ireland, U.K. & Europe and his work is in both public and private collections. For further information about his work please visit www.liamcampbellphotography.com
