Summerage
Summerage is an immersive short stay experience designed to foster a deep connection with one of Europe’s most unique landscapes - The Burran.
The sustainable and ecologically conscious restoration of a traditional Irish farmhouse has created an escape to appreciate the space and stillness of 360 degree views across 32 acres of The Burren in Co Clare.
A place apart
Home to a hazel forest, a kitchen garden and a native Irish honey bee apiary, Summerage allows nature to take centre stage. Situated in the heart of The Burren in Co.Clare (a UNESCO Geopark), the retreat has been established to respectfully honour the biodiverse glacio karst landscape.
A dedicated slow-living escape
The pared back cosy interiors are punctuated with pops of red and yellow taking inspiration from Le Corbusier among others. Uncomplicated, expansive and a distillation of living simply, classic design pieces from Bo Concept, Eames and Charlotte Perriand are elevated with considered lighting throughout.
A uniquely designed home
Working with Michael Haslam of ecological architecture practice Haslam & Co Architects, the early 20th century farm cottage has been sustainably renovated and extended to provide a base for visitors ready to unwind and connect with the landscape. Summerage is a retreat from busyness, an invitation to stop and an opportunity to embrace the spirit of The Burren.
